NAMI – National Alliance on Mental Health
Find local and online support, information on medications and treatments, general information about mental illnesses, and more.
NIMH – National Institute of Mental Health
A branch of the NIH (National Institute of Health), the NIMH focuses on research to understand and treat mental illness. The site is a good source of recent research, educational resources, and general mental health info.
Substance abuse is an incredibly common co-occuring problem among those with mental illness. Rehab Info is dedicated to providing comprehensive information about addiction, treatment options and the path to full recovery.
SAMHSA – Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America’s communities. They offer resources such as a treatment locator, suicide helpline, and related topics and programs.
Including a forum, blog, and mental health news, this is a kind of one-stop-shop for mental health information. You can find therapists, online communities, a self-help group, or information on medications.
Another one-stop-shop type website, including an array of blogs on a wide variety of mental health topics and conditions. It also includes mental health news and a question-and-answer area to ask questions of both therapists and community members.

Health and Wellness
You’ve probably heard of these guys and have visited at least once to look up your symptoms before heading to the doctor. They’re much more than just a symptom-checker, though. You can find communities of people with long-term illnesses, tips to stay healthy, quizzes to check for different conditions, and more.
US Dept. of Health and Human Services
A great collection of resources on diseases and prevention, as well as current national health information and national health regulations. It also has job information and health news.

A source of daily tips (life hacks) for making your life easier. It also has cool solutions to problems with efficiency you didn’t even know you had.

The site’s tagline reads, “In-depth coverage of current social issues. Insights into the philosophical, moral and ethical values in society today—health care, science and environmental news and articles.” The page specific to family and relationships includes information about parenting, family communication, forgiveness, self-esteem, and other related topics.
